Night at the Museum Celebration

Saturday, November 12th, 2022 - 6:00pm - 8:30pm
Location TBD

ATTENTION The 2021 NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM event video IS AVAILABLE here!

Two great reasons why people joined us for the Night at the Museum Event!

First, we honor and celebrate the initial class of more than fifty inductees into the Southern Appalachian Whitewater Hall of Fame. Many of the honorees will be present at the event. Here is the announcement video of the inaugural class of inductees:

Second, the keynote address this year will be a presentation by Kent Ford on the history of whitewater paddling in the US and the southeast. Kent is one of our country's most talented paddlers, one of our best whitewater historians, and one of our sport's nicest people.

Oh, and there's a third reason - you'll see some great friends at the event, perhaps some whom you have not seen for awhile!

COVID POLICY - YOU MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED TO ATTEND, AND WHILE INDOORS DURING THE EVENT, YOU MUST BE MASKED EXCEPT FOR WHEN ACTIVELY SIPPING A BEVERAGE. We expect a good number of folks in their late 60s and beyond to attend as honorees in the Hall of Fame along with their families, so your cooperation in keeping everyone safe and healthy is appreciated.

If you are unable to attend for any reason, we are making efforts to provide a live stream of the event and to have a video available later. The planned livestream will be available on the Southern Appalachian Paddlesports Museum Facebook page.

While Wedge at Foundation provides great beverages, it is not a food place. We recommend arranging your dining schedule around the event.

The actual location of the Paddlesports Museum is inside the Black Dome Mountain Sports retail shop, 140 Tunnel Rd., Asheville, NC 28805. We encourage you to visit the museum earlier on Saturday the 13th or on another day. A huge shout out and a big thanks to Black Dome for its generous support. Please do some holiday shopping during your visit there!
